A Magnificent George III Table Centrepiece

The centrepiece of circular form with three detachable bifurcated branches for candles, the upper cast section decorated with a continuous band of foliate scrolls on a matted ground. The centrepiece raised on three winged caryatid supports issuing from acanthus leaf and part-fluted sections terminating in lion’s paw feet. The supports in-turn are linked by cast floral drapes, and also linked by stiff acanthus leaves centred by an openwork calyx on the lower section. The centrepiece supporting a large central bowl with stepped, fluted and mitre-cut work.
