In the shape of a butterfly, the cover painted accordingly, the sides and base with translucent orange enamel within ribbon borders of champlevé black and white enamel, opening to reveal a centrally hinged pair of butterfly wing-form covers; suspended from an enameled gold chain with finger ring of slightly later date.
