A Exceptional Japanese 19th Century Teapot

Additional Images Description

The teapot on a pedestal foot resting on four feet. The foot with applied foliate and floral wire-work embelished in varying enamel colours. The main body with laquer and an wonderful applied mother-of-pearl and enamel carved scene of a maiden and stag carrying a harvest of mushrooms.
The reverse side with another scene of an urn with flowers together with a dragon, bird and censor all again carved from applied mother-of-pearl and enamels. 
The entire sides, lid and finial with applied cloissone enamelling of floral and foliate design.
