The coat-of-arms of Magan quatering Tilson & Bushe with Loftus in Pretence for William Magan the elder (1790-1840).

Diameter: 18.5 cm, 7.28 in.


 

All of round form with half-fluted sides and pierced decorative border of cast and applied chased leaves and dye stamped grapes, joined with swirling vines, finished with an ovolo rim.

To the base, the engraved cost-of-arms of William Henry Magan (1790-1840), of Clonearl, High Sheriff of County Westmeath, 1820, who married, in 1817, Elizabeth Georgina, widow of Colonel Thomas Lowther Allen, and second daughter and co-heir of Dudley Loftus, of Killyon, head of the ancient and distinguished house of LOFTUS.
