An enamel and gold canted snuff-box

Length: 10.3 cm, 4.05 in

This superb table snuff box, rectangular in form with canted cut-corners to the top. The box in blue and black enamel with white stringing and gold laurel décor. The central panel with a beautiful painted plaque in the 17th century Dutch style. The two side compartments formed as palladium style Corinthian columns surmounting acanthus supports with swags between them. Both sides with gold chased eagles sitting above the pillars.
