No record of apprenticeship or freedom. Mark entered as a large worker, 28th February 1745. Address 'de karner Gre den kort', annotated by Charles Fletcher countersigning the entry at 'Deans Court St Martins Lee Grand'. Heal records him here as a plate worker, 1741-8 and he appears as such in the Parl. report list 1773. His son William was apprenticed to Thomas Symonds. He is listed by Evans as a Huguenot. Possibly of Flemish or German descent.
