The beaker of tapering form with a reeded stepped foot is engraved with a geometrical foliate design.

MASTER WITH BIRD - ABRAHAM VALCKX

Born in 1574, son of Wouter and Suzanna, daughter of silversmith CORNELIS VAN DEN HEUVEL. Apprentice 1589/90 with WILLEM VAN DEN HEUVEL I. Married in 1603 to Anna de Noyelle. Becomes a Freeman before 1612. Co-dean 1615, dean 1616, member of the Oath 1621-1629. Mentioned until 1640. Sons Jan 1607 and PEETER II are silversmiths.
